About This Blog
What day into your physical distancing journey are you? Day 7? Day 14? Day 50? All across the globe as we work together to try and flatten the curve we are staying at home and only going outside for essential activities. We are living in this new reality where we communicate by phone, aren't able to see our friends and family in person, and when we do go out into the general public are keeping up an invisible 6 foot boundary while fighting for toilet paper. Feelings of anxiety and sadness are normal right now. Whether you had to give up a big event such as a wedding or vacation, are dealing with the uncertainty of unemployment or finances, or just living through a world-wide health scare with lots of questions and no answers... everyone is feeling stressed.
Because of this Dr. McNaughton-Cassill, a Clinical Psychologist and Psychology Professor at the University of Texas at San Antonio, has created this blog to get mental health tips and advice straight from her computer to yours. She was originally in Italy in the winter of 2020 when the coronavirus outbreak first happened, so she has a unique perspective and prior knowledge (and blog posts) about self-isolating due to COVID-19.
